Great angle with the light, no shadows on that lion's face -- nice and bright against the sky!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

From what I know about lions, they are not great climbers. I wonder what led this one to climb a tree? He looks a little scared -- did he maybe see a herd of buffalo? I know buffalo can (and do) kill lions, to protect their young. Anyway, the focus and detail in this image are spectacular -- wonderful capture! L/F
Eric Albright replied:
Thank you Lori....they're not normally climbers, but they can climb. This is a young male and younsters play in the trees often. If you look at my portfolio you'll find a shot of two Lions playing, one jumping down and the other grabbing him. It's a color photo. The one jumping down is this one when he came out of the tree. I have a few shots of Lions in trees, look for my Lion collection if you're interested in seeing them.
